Lay Legal Advocacy Survivors of domestic and sexual violence often deal with their partners or perpetrators in legal state of affairs that lead to orders of protection, parenting time (custody), divorce, immigration, and fair housing. Advocates generally accompany participants in and out of the courtroom for support, while collaborating with our partnering agency for additional services. Our advocates are not lawyers, but are training in the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence.
